Bonjour à tous et bienvenue sur ce blog,
Après 4 mois passés à New York, j'ai consacré le mois d'août 2010 à la traversée des Etats-Unis d'ouest en est, de Los Angeles à New York.
J'ai créé ce blog des plus simples pour partager avec vous quelques histoires, des sujets rencontrés sur la route ou tout simplement pour planter le décor.

New Orleans Lower 9th Ward part.1
En venant à la Nouvelle–Orléans, j’avoue ne pas avoir prévu de me retrouver en pleine commémoration de l’ouragan Katrina qui a eu lieu 5 ans auparavant.
Dès mon arrivée des rencontres et des liens se sont tissés, et je n’ai pu que me plonger dans l’histoire de cette ville et cette semaine particulière d’ « anniversaire ». Une ville difficile à cerner, à la fois repoussante par son rude climat, chaud et surtout très humide, sa dangerosité dans certains quartiers, son lourd passé, mais aussi saisissante et attachante par ses gens et ce qu’ils ont vécu ici.
Une semaine est bien trop court pour tenter de dresser le portrait de cette ville et expliquer en détail tous les facteurs humains et naturels qui ont pu conduire au désastre Katrina.
Je me suis contenté de recueillir à vif le témoignage de quelques personnages, particulièrement dans le quartier du Lower 9th Ward, le plus touché par l’ouragan. Quartier où notamment Brad Pitt a créé sa fondation « Make it right » pour construire des maisons et reloger les habitants.
When I arrived in New Orleans, I have to say that I hadn't scheduled to be in the heart of the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
As soon as I was there, I met people, friendly relations quickly began, and I had to dive deeply in this city's story and in this particular week of "anniversary". A city which is hard to understand. A city which can be repulsive with its hard climate, hot and very humid, its danger in some neighborhoods, its complex story... But a city which is strongly striking and endearing, due to its people and what they lived.
One week is too short to be able to describe this city and try to explain precisely all natural and mostly human factors which led to this catastrophy of Katrina.
I tried to collect testimonies of several characters, especially in the Lower 9th Ward, which had been the most touched by Katrina. This neighborhood where Brad Pitt, among a lot of others, created his foundation "Make it Right" to build and make people back home.
